Whether you’ve been in the health or wellness business for one year or 30 years, there is one certain thing. You always need more business to keep your books full.
In the past, that meant driving a portion of your business through old-school marketing methods, like Yellow Pages and newspaper advertising.
But, times have changed. In fact, in today’s fast-changing world of online business, it can be hard to keep up with all the tools and systems we can use to grow our businesses.
One of those systems that can be of enormous value is a marketing funnel.
What is a Marketing Funnel?
Marketing funnels are a specific model designed with the help of software to capture prospect information and to move that prospect through a series of steps (often automated) with the ultimate goal of converting that person into a sale.
Depending on your marketing strategy, many types of funnels can be created. This may include:
- Opt-in funnels
- Sales funnels
- Webinar funnels
- Membership funnels
- and more
Now, depending on your needs, you can customize any funnels to be more specific. For example, you may create a live event funnel by simply customizing an opt-in funnel.
The prospects are sent to a landing page that provides all of the live event details. The prospect also can enter their name, email, etc., to schedule themselves (and a guest) for your event.
Why You Should Use Marketing Funnels?
So, what are the main reasons for you to implement marketing funnels into your business?
Lead Generation
One of the reasons why you should begin using funnels is that they allow you to capture leads. So many entrepreneurs and business owners don’t have a plan to capture prospects. The prospect may be interested in the services or products but just haven’t gotten to the point where they’ll take the next step.
An example of this is when someone is looking for a gym membership. The prospect gets to the website and is interested, but there is no opt-in form to collect the prospect’s information. This allows the warm prospect to walk away, and you never are able to follow up with them. It’s like they were never there.
Instead, you should create various ways of gathering contact information in multiple areas of touch. Examples of this include opt-in forms when a person leaves your site (exit pop) or an offer on your site that, when clicked, requires information to be entered.
Create Sales
Another important reason to use funnels is to sell stuff. Whether its services or products, funnels can help you sell more. Also, the funnels can be constructed to sell something right now or down the road.
So why would you want someone in a funnel for a period of time before they make their purchase or schedule with you? Let’s talk about this.
Quick Sales Funnel:
In some cases, you may have a service or product that is easy to understand and has a lower price point. In these situations, creating a sales funnel with only a few steps is easier. In other words, you can ask for the sale very quickly.
An example would be selling a one-hour massage or a bottle of multivitamins. Everyone knows what each of these is. Who doesn’t know what a massage is? Who doesn’t know what multivitamins are? Also, the cost of each of these is relatively low.
Typically, those easily understood products with low costs require a shorter sales funnel.
Longer Sales Funnel:
Now, imagine that you have something more complex to sell with higher price points. These usually require a deeper sales funnel for the sale to be made.
Imagine if you’re trying to sell cold lasers or have a new 12-week certification class that is $1,497. Many people won’t understand exactly why they may need the cold laser or have reservations about spending $1,497 on a certification class.
This is why you may need a sales funnel with more steps. You may have to add steps within the funnel to teach the prospect why they need the product. You may have to add steps to demonstrate why they should trust you before registering for training.
More complex and higher-priced products often require a longer funnel process to allow the person to understand, feel good about, and gain trust.
Automate Things
One of the best things about the marketing funnel process is that you can automate things. That means allowing technology to do things that you’d typically have to do again and again…manually.
Imagine allowing the marketing funnel process to enable you to generate leads that you can follow up with (or follow up for you). Imagine a system that enables you to sell things while you sleep. Think about a system that will enable you to educate potential prospects of any new services that you now offer.
I love it!
Never before has it been this easy to set up marketing funnels and allow them to do all the hard lifting for you. All you need to do is set up the funnel(s) and let them do their thing.
Now it’s your turn.
Take a look at marketing funnels as a way to improve your business. Create new leads, sell stuff, and make things easier for you and your staff. It’s easier than you think.
